Regular follower of Magonia review will know that from time to time we like to feature new issues of postage stamps depicting topics of Magonian interest - ghosts, legends, folklore, historical mysteries, etc. The Channel Island of Jersey has issued a second set of stamps on a folklore theme, this set illustrating 'Tales from the Sea'. The first set is described HERE.

There are six stamps in the set, which will be issued on 3rd November. Unfortunately the Jersey Post website does not give the stories behind the stamps, simply listing them by title:
54p: The Bull Among the Rocks,
70p: Legend of the Plank
84p: Jeffrey’s Leap
88p: Spanish Ship on the Rocks
£1.05: Lavoir des Dames
£1.08: The Martyrdom of St Helier.
They will be issued as individual stamps, and as a miniature sheet which I illustrate. Are there any Jersiaise readers who can provide further information?
Which has now been helpfully provided by Matt Sanders who comments "This site looks like it gives a good description of all these legends, and the ones from the previous set. http://www.theislandwiki.org/index.php/Jersey_Folklore"
Thank you, Matt.
This site looks like it gives a good description of all these legends, and the ones from the previous set.
